Its not being immature its called being Hurt somethign people would understand mroe if ya'll were just a little more empathetic but ya'll arent so take what you get, has for my last comment, its simple, the way Nia is talking how she is speaking to him and much i mimagine her tone of voice,or did it not register with how its my way or the highway with her ending to her response.

@Lazy J: Wow... Calm down there, buddy - people not agreeing with you on a webcomic doesn't make them unempathic.

You are correct that Laojos is probably hurt deeply by what just happened between him and his daughter. It's okay to recognise that and feel bad for him. However... Nia is perfectly entitled to say that she feels like it would be better if they didn't talk for a while. Whatever his intentions, Laojos has been extremely hurtful towards Nia by treating her dismissively, withholding information, and even throwing her on Earth to become a Shaman against her will. Even his comment that she 'needed' him was manipulitive, and made in a bid to unseat her confidence and force her to stay with him. All of these actions may have been made with her best interests in mind, and may be driven by deep emotional pain on his part! But it doesn't change the fact that they're hurtful to her and - in some cases - downright dick moves.

If nothing else, while we're talking about hurting other people, throughout the whole confrontation Nia has remained calm and avoided inflamatory language - the cruelest thing she said was that she didn't need him, which was in direct and rational response to his assertion that she did. Meanwhile, this passing remark is clearly aimed towards hurting Nia's feelings, and - hurt or not - is a cruel blow. I have to say, I'm on Nia's side in this one, and I hope that the distance allows Laojos to understand how harmful his behaviour is and give him a chance to change for the better.

@Lazy J: your opinion on the last page was stupid and your opinion on this page is stupid too.

even if Lajos is deeply hurt, that doesn't give him -- or anyone -- carte blanche to say hurtful things. words have consequences. i also have an inkling that you wouldn't have called Nia a "spoiled princess" or have nearly as much of a problem with her if she were a male. women get way more flak for standing up for themselves than men do.

@Kit: you have very valid points and i can appricate them, see now this is a disscussion i can happily get into, and yes while i said what i said about people being unempathetic at no point was i losing my temper and cussing or yelling, but yes i can understand where Nia is coming from and yes i can see your point of view about Lajos being manipulative and secretive there is also the matter of his concern for her saftey isnt that why he thrust her into the shaman role to begin with? to Protect her and help her to train herself to better protect herself? but what i am seeing when i read the last page is Nia is stating her opinons and being honest i am just getting a sense of finality in her final statement kind of the tone a young inexperenced and scared person would make when i suppose learning to stand on her own, But you have made some very valid and solid points and i conseed to your points, your points and opinons are well stated and well backed by facts and how lajos, character has acted at the same, time in previous pages, but i would also liek to point out his fear of the all father if you will chaos , killing and destroying Nia, has much has Nia is in the dark about all this, so too is Lajos and all the other gods, has to what Chaos's true motives are, so from a parental point of view i think Nia is being a little harsh.
